ACTIVE MISSIONS

Journeys currently being planned.

Not every destination begins with a departure date.

Active Missions are the journeys that have moved beyond “we should go there someday” and into actual planning. Destinations are being researched, routes considered, possibilities explored, and plans made for getting Endeavour underway.

Some will be carefully planned expeditions. Others may be simple day trips built around one good reason to go.

Plans can change. Missions can evolve. Sometimes the destination itself changes.

That’s part of exploring.

Eastern North Carolina BBQ Run

Eastern North Carolina

A same-day run east in search of one of North Carolina’s great traditions: Eastern-style barbecue.

The current destination is Parker’s Barbecue in Wilson, with the journey itself being part of the mission — a road trip across the state for the wonderfully simple purpose of going somewhere to eat something worth traveling for.

North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival

Cary, North Carolina

An evening expedition to the North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival at Koka Booth Amphitheatre, where illuminated lanterns, enormous sculptural displays, color and light transform the grounds after dark.

Part cultural experience, part photographic mission, and exactly the sort of place worth going just to see what’s there.
